But it was the same old problem, which was the sharpness in the final third, that made the Sky Blues superior and earn three points. Erling Haaland and Mateo Kovacic scored today. As for Chelsea, under the supervision of new manager Enzo Maresca, they are still waiting for their first victory.

Chelsea Player Ratings

Robert Sanchez – 6/10

Made a few nice saves but was not very precise with his feet and almost lost the goal. For the second goal, he was not in good position and was shot from a distance.

Malo Gusto – 6/10

Today’s defense was completely without Jeremy Doku, he was constantly being dragged away. As for the offensive game, he didn’t play very detailedly, and his crosses weren’t on target.

Wesley Fofana – 6.5/10

He played well today, blocking a number of dangerous Man City shots and is starting to show signs of success after a lengthy injury layoff.

Levi Colwill – 7/10

Was involved in a lot of Man City’s attacks today. Made no mistakes and won a lot of ground and aerial duels.

Marc Cucurella – 7/10

Continued his impressive form since returning from the Euros, leading the line for Man City. Unfortunately he picked up an injury towards the end of the ufabet https://ufabet999.app game. But it didn’t look too serious as he was still able to put some weight on it.

Romeo Lavia – 6.5/10

He started the new season well by playing as Chelsea’s distributor. Today, Lavia completed 97.4% of his passes and also had some nice passes for his teammates. He is a kid who plays calmly beyond his years.

Enzo Fernandez – 6.5/10

Played well to standard. Both offensive and defensive plays were quite involved for the team. There were good moments when changing the game from defense to offense. He also had 3 chances to shoot himself.

Moises Caicedo – 6.5/10

He’s looked better than he did in pre-season but hasn’t been able to carry Chelsea’s midfield like Kante has done. He’s always been a half-step behind in his tackles and seems to excel more in his creative attacking play.

Cole Palmer – 6.5/10

Played close to the right wing, his form has not been impressive. His link-up play has been lacking. Although he has had a fair number of chances to create passes for his teammates into the penalty area, he is still below his standard, partly because he is heavily marked by a number of Man City players.

Christopher Nkunku – 6/10

Wasn’t very effective today. Could hardly beat Rico Lewis when dribbling. Could have been more useful in the central areas.

Nicholas Jackson – 6/10

Jackson’s performance today was another reminder of why Chelsea need to sign a new striker as soon as possible. When Chelsea did create golden opportunities, Jackson was not sharp enough to convert them into goals. If this continues, Jackson would be better suited to a backup striker role.

Substitute

Pedro Neto – (replaced Christopher Nkunku 58′) – 6.5/10

Had the opportunity to make his debut in the first match. Overall, his form is considered good. He had a chance to run up and almost scored a goal. And has an unusual dribbling style.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – (on for Romeo Lavia 67′) – 6/10

Came on but didn’t really make an impact for Chelsea and probably needs more time to settle into the team.

Mark Kiew – (on for Nicholas Jackson 67′) – 6/10

Had just 6 touches after coming on, his role was to help lead the pressing game but wasn’t particularly effective.

Renato Vega – (replaced Marc Cucurella 80′) – N/A
